Personal Data Discovery

Personal data discovery is finding where personal data sits across an organisation's databases and files, so each store can be mapped to the law that governs it.

Also known as: PII discovery, data discovery

Without copying the data

A scanner that copies data out to inspect it creates the risk it is meant to measure. The safer pattern reads in place, samples within set limits, and reports where an entity is, never its value.

In Raidu

Wheelhouse’s Personal Data Detection walks the estate read-only through one Trino connector and validates 13 identifier types, 9 of them Indian by checksum or grammar: Aadhaar (Verhoeff checksum), PAN, GSTIN, IFSC, UPI VPA, Indian mobile, email, payment card (Luhn), Indian passport, voter ID, vehicle registration, IP address and date of birth. The detector has no credentials and no network, and returns only location.
