AI Firewall

An AI firewall is a control that sits between people, apps and agents and the AI models they call. It checks every prompt, agent step and tool call against policy before the model is called, and redacts or refuses anything that should not leave.

Also known as: LLM firewall, prompt firewall

What a good one checks

The whole assembled prompt, not only the latest message: the system prompt and every earlier turn. Responses are scanned on the way back too, including token by token in streamed replies.

AI firewall and AI Accountability Layer

A plain AI firewall returns pass or fail. An AI Accountability Layer also explains which rule matched and writes a tamper-evident record of the decision.

In Raidu

Tower’s AI Firewall runs 61 guardrail policies across 36 detection services on the whole prompt, inside your cloud, before the model sees a byte. Every refusal is a tamper-evident audit record, with the policy that fired.

Common questions

Questions about AI Firewall.

Does an AI firewall only look at the latest message? +
It should not. Policies need to run on the full assembled prompt, including the system prompt and every earlier turn.
How much latency does Raidu add? +
You choose how deep the checking goes for each use case.
